Junee Railway Station is located on the Main Southern railway line in the town of Junee, New South Wales, Australia. Its altitude is 301 metres.
It has a single platform, privately owned railway workshops, and an extensive rail yard. Passengers are served by the CountryLink XPT Melbourne - Sydney services and the weekly Xplorer diesel railcar service to Griffith. Regional Rail Logistics once did but no longer operates a containerised freight service from Junee to Sydney,[1] with interstate freight trains also passing through the town. The Bethungra Spiral is located outside the town, where the railway ascends a steep grade.
The original station opened on 6 July 1878. The name was changed to Junee Junction upon the opening of the branch to Narrandera on 28 February 1881. The current station building, including the Railway Refreshment Rooms and Hotel, was completed in March 1885. The name reverted to Junee in April 1940.[2]
